How to be registered user of MOSDAC?

| Ans: | There is "on-line" form available on MOSDAC portal. Pl fill up and submit. You will be intimated through e-mail about the approval. |

Is there "User Manual" on portal?

| Ans: | Yes, User Manual is under "Information" button. The "Information" button is made available on top in horizontal frame. |

| Ans: | You will get the list under "Products" button. |

What is Metadata? Is it different from the actual data?

| Ans: | Metadata is the information about the data and not the actual data. To browse the Metadata, registration is not required. The actual data is made available to the registered users on request. |

How data can be ordered/requested?

| Ans: | You are required to be a registered user for ordering the data. Be a registered user by filling up on-line form. Go to Metadata search. Select either Satellite or In-situ data. Select the data of your interest. Click on check box on extreme right. Add to cart. submit the request. You will be given a request id no. You will be intimated through the mail about readyness of your data. Your requested data will be uploaded to your FTP account. |

Which satellites/in-situ data is available on MOSDAC?

| Ans: | Presently KALPANA-1, INSAT-3A and AWS data is available on MOSDAC |

| Ans: | There is Product list on top menu bar, where all KALPANA-1 and INSAT-3A data products are displayed. |

| Ans: | KALPANA-1 data is available from June 2008 till present date. To view availability of data, select product from top menu bar, all satellite data products, their start date (from when, data is available) and end date (latest date, for which data is available) will be displayed. |

Which duration data can be obtained from MOSDAC for INSAT-3A?
|
| Ans: | INSAT-3A/VHRR data is available from June 2009 till present date and INSAT-3A/CCD data is available from June 2008 till present date. To view availability of data, select product from top menu bar, all satellite data products, their start date (from when, data is available) and end date (latest date, for which data is available) will be displayed. |

| Ans: | AWS data is available from Jan 2008 till present date? |

How to get description about a product?
|
| Ans: | Select Product from top menu bar. All products list will be displayed. Move your mouse on short name of product like “3A-CCD-GPS”, product description will be displayed in tool tip. |

How many AWS are installed in each state of India?

| Ans: | Select Information from top menu bar, then select AWS distribution map, AWS distribution map and no. of AWS installed in each state of India will be displayed. |

How to order AWS data?
|
| Ans: | To order AWS data, one should be a registered user. Login with your username and password. Select Metadata search from top menu bar. Select Insitu-data search. Select data of your interest and click place order. If you have selected Mode as “http”, data will be served through download link, after signing agreement. If you have selected Mode as “ftp”, data will be served on ftp. You can get the data after logging to ftp://ftp.mosdac.gov.in. On your ftp under insitu data folder, your ordered data will be served. |

How can I check, that my request for satellite data is served?
|
| Ans: | On left menu bar, select My Request. All pending request will be displayed. If you want to view all request, select “Click here to see request history”. If your request is served, its status will be complete. |

How can I check, that my request for AWS data is served on ftp?
|
| Ans: | You will be intimated through mail. Normally it is served immediately after submitting the request. You can login to MOSDAC ftp(ftp://ftp.mosdac.gov.in) and check it under insituorder folder.

How to change password?
|
| Ans: | Login with your user name and password. On left menu bar, select My Profile. Your Profile page will be displayed. Select change password on top of the page. Provide old and new password and click submit. Your password will be changed. |

How to know forgot password?

| Ans: | Click Forgot Password link on left side of MOSDAC Home Page. Enter user name or email. If valid username/email is entered, password will be sent through email. |
